The original Nintex Forms product was an exceptional forms designer that was considered class-leading in its time due to its flexibility with its pixel-perfect design approach.

However, designing a pixel-perfect form for every form factor became an arduous and time-consuming task with the rise of mobile web usage. A responsive form designer became the ideal approach, accelerating the form designers’ ability to deliver solutions quickly while allowing them to focus on other more important aspects of creating their forms.

A complete overhaul of the form design experience was undertaken to ensure that the product offered the best possible experience to both the designer and user agent.

A significant ideation phase was conducted to develop ideas and approaches for improving the design concepts. This was followed by extensive research to ensure that the new design met expectations and did not alienate existing users when the new concept was introduced.

The main advantage of being able to create a single form was a significant reduction in overall design time by eliminating the duplication of tasks required to build and configure forms. The reduction of tasks resulted in a multiplied advantage, depending on the number of devices designers had to accommodate. On average, this number was around four to five versions of a single form.

As a second benefit, users filling in forms now had a much more consistent interface to work with, leading to a 20-30% improvement in form completion time and accuracy.

In the end, form designers were able to focus on the content and usability of their form, rather than on accommodating multiple devices.
